Alstroemeria /Camassia

Bij ons bekend als de inka lelie. Soms maak ik wel eens een foutje door eerst de

plant te kopen en daarna het bijgevoegde kaartje omtrent de standplaats e.d. te gaan

lezen. In de boeketten uit de bloemenwinkel zie je ze in de meest prachtige pastel

teinten. Ik heb echter op het internet gelezen dat alleen deze rode Princess Lillie "Leyla""

geschikt is voor de tuin. De andere kleuren zijn nog niet beschikbaar voor de tuin

omdat de bloemstengels te slap zijn en omvallen warneer de bloemen gaan bloeien.

Ze kan temperaturen in de winter overleven tot en met -5 C. Er wordt belooft

 dat ze bloeit van het voorjaar tot de eerste vorst.

Een andere schoonheid is een bol de Camassia die ik vorig jaar kocht met 3 bloemen. Dit

jaar heeft ze er al acht. Voordat ik vanochtend naar mijn werk ging om 7.00 uur had ze

nog geen bloem open en na het werk zag ik dat er bloemen open waren. Ze houd van

een enigszins vochtige standplaats.

Another beauty I love to show is a bulb Camassia. Available in light to dark blue

flowers. I bought her last year with 3 flowers and now she's having 8. Before I went to

work this morning at 7.00 am she had not one flower opened. When I came home this

afternoon she opened some flowers. She likes a bit of moisty place.
