Breeder: Unknown, before 1827
Het is heerlijk om de historische rozen weer uit te zien lopen. Mooi om
te zien dat de moderne rozen reageren op de temperaturen en de
oude rozen op het aantal uren daglicht. Deze roos is pas 2 jaar in mijn
tuintje dus nog een jonge dame. Sterke geur en prachtige bloemen. Bloeit
maar 1x per jaar.
It's so lovely to see the historical roses leafing out. Great to see the
difference in leafing out between the modern roses and the historical
ones. Modern roses act on temperatures and the historical ones act
on the amount of daylight. This rose is in my garden for two years
now. Bringing a strong fragrance but does'nt repeat flowering later
in the year.
Can't wait to see it in bloom again. But it will take some time.

VerwijderenYes it is a wonderful rose. It's time I collect some dry rosepetals of this rose.
I did with flowers of other roses and it's amazing how fragrant this dried petals are later
in the year.
It is not so nice to have rain again at your place. It drizzles overhere with a very strong
wind again. There is better weather forecasted after next weekend. I hope it's coming
true (fun). But first another week with stormy winds and rain is on the weathermenu.

Now I have a lot of suckers too. It is a wonderful rose.
Yesterday I visited a garden with a lot of very big roses, they have not been prooned for two years
and was there to help them how to do. I am glad it was´nt my roses. But I am looking foreward to see them this summer. Then I will take photoes and show them on my blog.

The old roses are great but I must admit that I prefer modern roses: they are more compact, healthier, make more flowers. One thing I noticed is that old roses have a stronger smell. They are the base that the new roses are build ton so they are a kind of a legacy.

But I love to have them. The frangrance of the Historical ones are breathtaking and special to me.
