LAURE DAVOUST
We are still having a cold period. King Winter brought 25 cm of snow in my little garden. Since last sunday -3C during the day and -10C at night. Before the cold came in I was suprised to see how green Laure Davoust had. But it will take some time before we can see what the cold did to the roses.I know how strong a roseshrub is. In the winter of 2012 my rose Buff Beauty (at that time 3 meters high) was frozen back to ground level. Late May/Begin of June that year new growth came out the soil. Also a lot of other roses were frozen to groundlevel. Have to wait what the cold did to the roses till March. Tomorrow the snow will melt. I am going to miss the wonderful white world.

Came into my garden at december 2016. In february 2017 it started it's growth
I am still gratefull that we´ve had a spell of winter. It also brought a special winter guest to my
garden. (can be found here BIRDS IN MY GARDEN)
Having blue sky's, sunshine and snow gave many people a positive boost.
Have a wonderful weekend ahead.

Hello dear Marijke
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI saw in the TV, that you have got a lot of snow in Holland, then I thougt of you.
I looks nice with a lot of snow, but we hope for spring soon and that our roses will
survive the frost.
Have a nice weekend.
Rosehugs Lisbeth
Good evening dear Lisbeth,
VerwijderenYes we´ve had a lot of snow and cold temperatures. But it was a wonderful week to me.
I am also currious to see how the roses are doing after this winter week.
It´s great that spring is on it´s way!!!
Have a wonderful new week ahead.
Rosehugs Marijke
We too have lots of snow and cold weather, Marijke, but it happens every year. The snow provides a deep blanket and when it melts the moisture seeps into the soil, essential for the spring flowers that in about a month will be pushing up through the ground. I can hardly wait!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHello David,
VerwijderenYou have real wintertimes every year. It´s been 9 years ago since we've had a week long winter weather.
A lot of people went out to go iceskating. And the light that the snow brought was a great boost for a lot of people. Can't wait to see the springflowers too!!
Have a wonderful new week ahead.
Good evening dear Marijke,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBeautiful photos from your garden with snow. It's not often to see at your place. I hope your roses will survive.
Have a nice evening.
Rosehugs, Marit
Good evening dear Marit,
VerwijderenWe all enjoyed the winter weather. So many people were on the canals and lakes iceskating. A great thing to see. But I am looking forward to welcome springtime.
Have a wonderful new week ahead.

Marijke, your roses are wonderful. Love this color and abundant blooming. This winter the snow has covered large spaces, glad you love white world. But I'm tired of snow and cold -12 C, am waiting for spring.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHugs!
