Julia's Rose
Geen gemakkelijke dame in mijn tuintje. In 2014 verloor ik deze prachtige roos. Ze heeft vooral moeilijkheden met de late nachtvorsten in het voorjaar. Maar ze bleef in mijn gedachten. Dus opnieuw besteld en deze week mocht ik haar ontvangen. Ze staat nu in mijn achtertuintje waar ze beter beschermd is tegen de kou.
Not an easy rose to grow. I lost it in 2014. It can't resist the late nightfrost that we have sometimes late in springtime. But she stayed in my mind all this years. So I give it a try again and ordered a new one. Planted it now in my backgarden having better protection against cold periods.

VerwijderenIt is a really beautiful one. I am lucky that it is delivered in pot. Early morning frost is forecasted so I still can bring it inside as long as it's not planted in my backgarden. (lol).
In earlier winters I always covered certain roses against the cold. But after having a few very mild winters I thought that it was'nt necessary anymore. Well I know now that I was wrong. I give this rose a new chance I hope it will survive.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenI have never seen that rose before, it is very lovely, I hope it will survive in your garden this time. Last year I bought a rose called Julias Child but I don´t think it is the same rose.

VerwijderenAfter having a couple of mild winters I thought that protection of certain roses would not be neseccary anymore but I was wrong. The place that she get's now is more a sheltered one.
I keep my fingers crossed that it will do well. It's still in a pot so I can bring it inside. Early morningfrost is forecasted.

Here I am again. It reminds me of Koko Loco, perhaps you can remember it from my garden. This year it don´t look very healthy. Perhaps it is a difficult rose.

VerwijderenYes I remember you have Koko Loko in your garden and I felt in love with it. But the color of Koko Loko looks more special in my eyes. In Holland it was sold out but I could order it in your country at Rosenposten. And I received it this week. Fantastic quality. There is a rose called Mokarose on the market that seems to be the healthies of the three here called roses with this special color. No space for it anymore in my garden (fun).

Elle est effectivement très belle cette rose, je l'ai eue au jardin voici quelques années mais avec le temps les tiges se sont faites bien rares et j'ai fini par l'enlever. J'adorais son coloris !

Dit is een beeldschone roos. Ik kan me voorstellen dat je het - op een meer beschutte plaats - nog eens met haar (is roos vrouwelijk?) gaat proberen.

VerwijderenJa het echt zo'n mooie. Misschien zou het beter zijn om het in een pot te zetten en in de winter naar de garage te brengen. Maar die staat helaas ook altijd vol (lol). Ik praat altijd over ZIJ als het om een roos gaat (ik weet niet waarom (lol)). We gaan het proberen.

Julia's Rose was a stunning one - I liked the open flower and it feels really unusual. The problem you are talking about is why it's difficult for me to order from for instance Holland. The difference in climate is to large. But a good thing you try again - it might have been that just that rose.

VerwijderenIt is a very special rose. The easiest roses to grow are the historical ones. Most of the time not repeating flowering but they are much healthier as the modern ones are. We were spoil last winters having very mild ones. But I know now that I have to protect the not so healthy ones because winters are unpredictable.
