My little garden at 11th of March

Hoe anders een mens zich voelt als de zon schijnt. Het was heerlijk buiten
vandaag eindelijk!!! Omgeven door de hommels en de zingende vogels
dat is voor mij voorjaar.

How different it  feels when the sun is shining. It was
wonderful today to be outside. Surrounded by the Bumblebees,  the birds
were singing this is the real Springfeeling

Helleborus is still opening flowers

Bergenia is showing her flowers

It's special to see the Crocus opening. The others were knocked down
by the stormy winds and heavy rain of last weeks. They did not have
the oppertunity to open.

Terrible me!!! A new ordered rose came in. How was I feeling? Very happy

The new rose is able to drink before it's planted tomorrow

The first Hoverfly of this year. I love to see it's because it's a predator for the Lice

The Pulmonaria seeded out a lot last year. Great to see the blanked of pink
en blue flowers that it brings. A great food plant for the Hoverfly. It has the
pollen of this plant on it's menu

I don't prune much on the roses but this year it had to be done. It's great to see
the new growth in the pruned roses.

The Corydalis shows new growth in an old dustbin.

A treasure for a roselover is to see the new growth at this time of the year.

Aquilechia is on it's way

Anemone

Strange to see the buds in rose Lauré Davoust so early in the year

Hemerocalis

I think that last years summer was to dry for this Helleborus only a few flowers now

Clematis

Helleborus on the left side in the backgarden

It was special to see a tiny flower in rose Frau Eva Schubert

Camelia

Hydrangea is leafing out

This plant in the pond did not stop sending flowers

I am a little bit worried about the color of the water of the pond. We don't have
a filtersystem because in normal winters the frost kills a lot of not wanted bacteria. But
not one night of frost this year. I will see what happens.

A Job for tomorrow. The rose Compassion is the last rose who needs to be
pruned

Don't worry to much!!! Enjoy what life is bringing you at the moment.

Stay safe!!! Rosehugs Marijke

  1. Good morning dear Marijke
Nice to see the pictures from your sunny day. We had sunshine too but a lot of wind.
To day we have stormy weather I have just come home from my morning walk, it was difficult to walk in so much storm but I enjoyed it. I don´t hope it is blowing at your place when you are going to prune your Compassion rose.
I am curious to hear about your new rose, it is allways nice to get something new. I loved to see your camelia´s.
    Stay safe you too

    1. Good morning dear Lisbeth,
How different the weather was early this morning, The noise of the storm and hail woke me up at 04.00
this morning. A blue sky now here and it was wonderful to have a walk with my dog too!! The wind is a bit
quieter now. I hope the new rose will do well this season. I have to wait to see if it's going to be a succes.
Patience is not a thing I have under controle (fun). I am amazed how well the Camelia's are doing after
having weeks of bad weather. But they seem to be stronger as we think.
Have a wonderful day and stay safe!!!
      Rosehugs Marijke

  3. Hello Marijke, what rose did you ordered?
It's strange for me to see so many plants flowering at the same time. For example crocus and roses, my roses will start blooming in June. The Hemerocallis are huge in my opinion. Mine are about 5 cm high.Looks like spring is already in your garden, enjoy and happy gardening!

    1. Good morning dear Adriana,
I forgot to write the name down of the new rose it's John Davis. It brings lovely clusters of pink flowers.
Can be grown as a climbing rose or big shrubrose. The photo's of the roses I posted before were from last
June and July. Overhere the roses start blooming in May and June too. There is only 1 tiny flower in rose
Frau Eva Schubert no buds further buds in it now. And the folliage of the other plants are much further as
it was the year before. We did not have any frost ore snow this year the wintertime was very mild.
Happy gardening, stay safe and have a good health. Enjoy the beauty that springtime brings!!!
      Rosehugs Marijke

      Hartelijke groetjes Marijke

  5. Very nice pictures from your garden. The snow came very late in my hometown, in March, so we still have winter.
