  1. Thank you for showing these beautiful pictures Marijke! You have such a nice collection of roses. I especially like your David Austin roses, I am sure they smell divine. If I had more space in my garden, I would definitely buy some more David Austin Roses, there are so many beautiful varieties, but unfortunately my garden is very small.
    Enjoy your lovely garden!

    1. My garden is also very small Lisa. 100 m2 at the back and 36 m2 in the front. I was always dreaming of a larger one. But now I am 58 and at this age that the size is big enough to keep it clean and have also time to enjoy the lovely flowers. I only wish I could plant some historical roses. I love the size of the big shrubs they are bringing. Only flowering once a year but with so many flowers.
      Have a wonderful sunday.

    2. Dear Marijke,
my garden is about 50 m2. I am 23 and who knows, maybe one day I will have a bigger garden, but as you said, it is also a lot of effort to maintain a big garden. I too love historical roses! Many of them, however, become huge bushes, which look lovely, but might get too big for a small garden. I totally agree, historic roses look stunning when in flower with all these many blooms. I really love my historical rose Mme Boll, it stays quite compact and even repeats flowering. This year I bought the historic rose Variegata di Bolognia, I saw some pictures of it in the web and thought I need to have this rose. It is supposed to become very big, so I am quite excited how it will develop.
Have a great Sunday as well!

  2. Dear Marijke - what a lovely selection of roses you have, it would be difficult to choose a favourite as they all compliment each other so well. I suspect that the perfume in your garden is delightful, especially on a warm summer evening.
I hope all is well with you.

  7. It’s always lovely to see the roses in your garden Marijke and I always find one I would like to have! This time I would love to have Queen of Sweden, but I just looked at your previous post too – and I saw ‘Isabella Renaissance’ – what a lovely rose! I must see if I can find room for a few more, I have lots more roses now than in my previous garden but still…..a few more :-)
    Have a great week!
