The first rosebud
Yesterday the first rosebud in Abraham Darby 2018
De laatste paar dagen super mooi weer gelukkig. Een hoop werk te doen in de
tuin. Helaas heb
gelukt is.
The last few days the weather was so gorgeous. 20C and full of sunshine. A
lot of work to do in my little garden. I feel so happy to be able to drink a
cup of coffee in a tshirt!! And every day brings a new experience in the garden.
And ofcourse I could not resist to buy some new rosevarieties this year. 9 new ones
came in. It's always the question will these new roses survive!! Most of the new
ones bring new growth but this new growth does not always say that the planting
has succeeded. It happened that a month after planting the leaves got yellow and
the new rose died. We will see.
New in the Garden are: (click the name of the rose above the photo and
you see the flower of the rose).
I hope they all feel very happy in my little garden.
Camelia still in flower
Anemone
Buds in the Treepeonie
And a supprise yesterday. Munstead wood did not give a sign of
live in 2017. I thought I lost it. No green no flowers nothing. But now I saw new growth
coming.
Enjoy the most beautiful time of the year. It's called Springtime!!
Have a wonderful day.
Rosehugs Marijke
Hello dear Marijke,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSo nice to see photos from your garden! You never get enough roses :)
I eny you the warm weather. Here it's still 50 cm with snow :(
I wish you a wonderful day!
Rosehugs, Marit
Hello dear Marit,
VerwijderenIt's so sad for you that you still have so much snow!! Snow is beautiful in winter but
not in springtime. But your time will come!! And yes I am addicted to buy roses (lol).
But now there is only space for two other roses. No space anymore (lol).
Have a wonderful day.
Rosehugs Marijke
Marijke, congratulations on the first rose bud of the year! All your new roses are great choices, Maidens Blush is especially beautiful and delicate. I hope they fare well and give you lots of Roses! Your Camellias look wonderful too, mine are full of blooms despite a hail storm that damaged their leaves and ruined some buds. Have a day full of Roses!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHello dear MDN,
VerwijderenHow great it is to have Cameliaflowers in Autumn. Must be very special. Yes and there is nothing we can do about the weather. A lot of the white Cameliaflowers are half white half brown. Caused by the strong freezing winds. We have to take it as it comes. I hope to receive a lot of roseflowers. Some will bring flowers and some won't. I keep my fingers crossed.
Have a wonderful day
Rosehugs Marijke
Hello Marijke
VerwijderenNice to hear abour 20 C and spring, here is only 7 C and a cold wind.
Your new roses look nice, I hope they will survive. I bought Maidens Blush last year but I have only seen one flower so far :)
I love your camelliaes, I have soon flowers in one of mine.
Rosehugs Lisbeth
Hallo Zem,
VerwijderenHet weer is uitgesproken zalig!!!!
Heerlijke genietdag gewenst.
Rozige groetjes Marijke
Hello dear Lisbeth,
VerwijderenHaving that temperatures are so gorgeous. It makes me feel so much better. Great you have
Maidens Blush too!! You only had one flower in this rose last year but it's always partytime
feeling when the new rose is giving a flower also when it's only one. Can't wait to see your
beautiful Camelia's in bloom!!! The white one has really a lot of half brown half white flowers caused by the ice cold winds a couple of weeks ago.
Have a wonderful day Lisbeth.
Rosehugs Marijke
Hello Marijke!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI agree- it's a nice season , spring time.
Love your camellias and anemones, unfortunately camellia doesn't grow in northern areas.
Your first rose bud is amazing, so early bloom!
Good morning dear Nadezda,
VerwijderenI am thankfull that winter is over yet. The camelia is a great shrub to have. Many other
rosebuds have followed now. Can't wait to see the roses in bloom.
Have a wonderful day.
Rosehugs Marijke
Dear Marijke,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenhow lovely to hear that you planted new roses in your garden. I really love your choices as I too love old rose varieties. I also planted new roses in my garden this year. One of them is Felicite Parmentier. Isn´t that interesting that we both planted the same rose! Jacques Cartier I planted in my garden two years ago and its a lovely rose. Did you plant the roses as bare-root or as container roses?
Enjoy the great weather and I wish you good luck with your roses!
Best wishes,
Lisa
Good morning dear Lisa,
VerwijderenI have to admit that the modern roses don't do well in my garden. I know the historical ones only bloom one time in a year but they are healthy enough to go trough our climate. I buy my new roses bare-root. I planted Felicite Parmentier and Jacques Cartier also in 2016 but they died so I give it another try with new ones (lol).
Laat maar komen!!!!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenEen heerlijke lente gewenst.!!
VerwijderenHello. Finally spring and you can stay in the garden and see what is already crimson and what will bloom soon. Certainly, the first bud of a rose has pleased you and I wish all the planted new roses grow wonderfully. Greetings.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThank you so much for your always so welcome comments Giga.
Verwijderenhave a wonderful day.
Rosehugs Marijke
Goedemorgen Tinie,
bloemen.
Een heerlijke dag gewenst Tinie.
What beautiful photographs of spring, Marijke.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI am going to cut back my roses in the upcoming week, but it will be a while before we see flowers.
I wish you a wonderful week ahead, sweet friend.
xo.
Hello dear lisa,
VerwijderenIt's great that you can cut back your roses too!! Rosepruning is the most difficult time of
the year for me because I still don't really know HOW to prune (lol).
Yes it will take some time before the first roseflower will be there.
Have a wonderful day my friend
xxxxxx Marijke

BeantwoordenVerwijderenThank you so much Rose a Happy springtime for you too. To me springtime is the most
