Fairytail

was weer daar.

Yes it me 58 years ago. A happy child. I am thinking back how happy I was
that I had a mother, who was taking time telling me a story out of my
favorite fairytale book before I went to sleep.
Sometimes the story's were sad but at the end of
the story the flowerfairy came by with her basket of rosepetals, spreading it
on the ground and solved all the problems and life was good again. As a young
child I wanted to be the flowerfairy.

Enough to enjoy in the garden. I wish I could sent the sound of Bee's busy polinating
the beautiful blossoms of the wild cherrytree

Corydalis

First flower in Clematis

Rosebud in rose Compassion

A weed we gardners don't want in the garden. But it's flower is beautiful

The last couple days we've had nightfrost. At thirsdaymorning the flowers
of the viola were hanging. But later on the day they were beautiful again

The Treepeony is doing great.

Flowers in Caltha Palustris in the pond

It's lovely to have the ducks in my pond

Have a wonderful sunday and a great new week ahead

Bon dimanche!

    1. Good morning dear Gine,
It is lovely to have the ducks in the garden!! They come every day for a visit. I was affraid too that the big
buds of the treepeony would be damaged during the late night frost bud they are okey. Noticed a bit of color in it yesterday. So it won't be long before they are opening. Can't wait to see it in bloom.
Have a wonderful day, and stay safe!!

  2. Good morning dear Marijke
I am sitting here smiling to the sweet girl on the picture :) The childhood was a nice safe time, our mother can´t help us any more but we can remember the fairytales she told us and the memories.
Your garden are of course longer than mine, nice to see clematis and rosebuds.
Have a lovely sunday and take care

    1. Good morning dear Lisbeth,
It was great to find a photo made in a time when you are a child and did not worry about anything.
I wish I was that fairy now and could solve the problems that we are facing now. The roses who
have buds now were not pruned this year. The ones I did prune don't have buds at the moment.
Have a wonderful rest of the week in good health

  3. Good morning dear Marijke,

What a lovely story and photo! It was my father who read fairytales for me, and it's a sweet memory of him.
Then the world looked safe when we lok back, but I also remember the cold war and I was very afraid of Atom bombs.
I guess that my grandchildren will remember this time as scary too.
Lovely photos from you garden! I love the duck, the clematis and the violas.
Have a wonderful Sunday and take care!

why. The pond is a nice thing to have in the garden. Always something to see.

    1. Good morning dear Siam,
      Sorry for the late reply.
It's great to have the duck's visiting my pond. They are there every day now. The garden is
very dry at the moment. I see at the level of the pond that the warmth and strong winds we have
evaporated a lot of water. Time to bring the waterlevel back to normal.
Each day we have to take care that we don't catch up the terrible virus. Love to go to the gardencentre
to buy something new but I won't to many people there.
      Stay safe and well!!!

The dark pink Treepeony is 20 years old. The strange thing is that the white one in my front garden
is'nt that big at all and is also for a long time in my garden.
Thank you so much for your kind comment!!!

  9. That is a beautiful photo and story. It brought back some of my own happy memories of long ago. It is wonderful to have garden blogs to visit despite the sadness and pain of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a way to support each other and remember that happy times will return eventually.

Your tree peony is wonderful. It looks so strong and healthy. And soon, beautiful flowers. Many beautiful flowers to you this Spring!

    1. Good morning dear Hoover Boo,
I think it's important more than ever to share flowers to the world in times where every 5 minutes bad news
is broadcasted by the news. I am very happy to have a garden even when it is a very small one.
The peony is 20 years old. It has not many flowers now and I have no idea why. Maybe it's the drought we've
      had the last two years.
      Have a wonderful day
