Partytime in my little garden
Wat een fantastisch weer hebben we toch. Dat maakt dat de rozen
zich gedragen alsof het half Juni is. Maar dat mooie weer zorgt er
wel voor dat de tuin flink water tekort heeft. De meststoffen liggen
nog op de aarde en komen niet bij de wortels van de rozen.
We have such beautiful weather. It makes the roses opening up
like we are in the middle of June. The soil is getting dryer every day.
The fertilizer is still on the soil and don't reach the roots of the plants.
It's wonderful to be outside all day long and also have diner
outside. This is my favorite place in the garden to drink a cup of
coffee. On the left side is Penny Lane growing. It does'nt do so
well like it did in other years because of the late nightfrost we've
had so late in the year.
And on the right side A Shropshire Lad

The first flowers of Edenrose also had frostdamage but the
flowers are great now
Planting a new rose in wintertime is not always an easy thing to do.
The beechhedge was'nt in leaf and I thought at that moment that the
new planted rose had enough sunshine on it's head. It has to grow a bit
before it has sunshine enough. In the dark corner my new rose Lullaby

Such a joy to see your beautiful roses. I am enjoying them with a cup of coffee, too, but in front of my computer. It's 4:40 am in the early morning. So hard to sleep with all the bad things going on over here in Los Angeles. Later on I will have another cup of coffee in my garden and then work around in it a bit to forget the larger world and concentrate on my own. Thanks for giving the day a beautiful beginning. I like Lulleby best. Maybe it will help me go back to sleep!

VerwijderenI am always early up in the morning too! I regret what is going on the world too. It's great to have place
to get distance from all the evil things. The garden is the best place to find peace.
Lullaby is a beautiful one. Planted to close to the hedge and had to start with a lot of shade. But now
her nose is catching the sun on her nose because it's growing. The color gives more peach now.

We've had enough rain but I was amazed to see how dry the soil still is digging a hole for the new

VerwijderenDe tuin heeft inmiddels veel water gehad. Het is zo jammer dat als de regen komt het gelijk extreem
is. Bij het graven voor mijn nieuwe rozen was het toch opmerkelijk dat de grond een beetje diepter
nog extreem droog is.

VerwijderenI did not start the garden with all this roses that I have now. Every year some new ones came in (lol)
A Shropshire Lad is sold as a climbingrose. It makes very long growth before the flowers arrive. The branches are not flexible but stif. It's better and more beautiful to give it space and let it grow is a huge shrubrose.
