Happy colors/empty nest
Goedemorgen. Nog een paar weken te gaan en dan is 2020 al weer voorbij. Voor velen een jaar dat ze snel willen vergeten. Laten we in deze donkere dagen elkaar spammen met zaken waar je wel blij van wordt. We vergeten dat er heel veel moois is om op terug te kijken. Inmiddels heeft dochterlief in september haar eigen plek gevonden en heeft het ouderlijk huis verlaten. Maar het ging mij effe te snel toen zoonlief in oktober ook een huis kreeg. Je weet als ouder dat het de gezonde weg is dat je kinderen op een bepaald moment een eigen leven gaan krijgen maar ik moet toch bekennen dat ik ze toch wel mis.
Good morning. A couple weeks to go and 2020 is gone. For many people a year they love to forget. Let's spamm eachother in these dark days with colorfull photo's of things that make us happy. We forget that there happened also a lot of happy moments. Our daughter found her own place in September and in October our son found his own place. As a parent you know that on a certain moment the children will go theire own way but it is very quiet in the house now. I miss them.

VerwijderenIt's the table that's empty at diner time. I still have to get used that I don't have to cook so much food. My husband is sometimes smiling at me when I serve diner and asking me who's also invited.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenI do understand your feeling, it is many years since my youngest son left home, he is 32 now, but I missed him, the house is very calm without them, but you get used to it. Now I am very happy when they come and visit me with my grandchildren, but I admit I am also happy when they leave for home, I am older now.

VerwijderenStil is het zeker in huis. Zoonlief woont gelukkig in hetzelfde dorp als wij. Als ik mij goed herinner woont jou dochter helemaal in Nieuw Zeeland. Daar ga je, zeker nu, niet snel even heen. Maar er komen weer betere tijden.

Your flowers are a wonderful burst of colour, Marijke, especially at this time of the year. Early last week we had our first real snow of the winter and everywhere was crisp and bright, but the past few days have been unduly warm, with rain, so the snow has melted and it is most grey and brown outside. We too are feeding the birds and derive a lot of pleasure from watching their antics. Every penny spent on bird seed is well rewarded. Stay well and stay safe. Let's all hope the end is inside for COVID-19!

Beautiful roses! I'm probably swimming against the stream - personally 2020 was a calm and relaxing year. It's been some time since the children moved and it's actually rather nice. I miss our dinners, the discussions and talks we had sometimes but most of the time it's perfectly fine to just care for myself.
