King winter is visiting
Afgelopen nacht kwam er een sneeuwstorm over ons land. Ik was om 4 uur al wakker vanwege het gegier van de storm om het huis. Wat een prachtig gezicht was het vanmorgen in mijn tuintje. Mijn hond Vito wordt net zo opgewonden van sneeuw als ik. Hij bleef de hele dag bedelen of hij in de tuin mocht. Iets minder was het om met hem te moeten wandelen. Het liefste wat hij wilde doen was vrij rennen maar dat ging niet. Veel te veel mensen op straat en niet iedereen houd van een hond. De sneeuw voelde als zand in mijn ogen door de stormachtige wind. De wind is inmiddels wat minder en wat zal het mooi zijn als de zon morgen gaat schijnen. Het wordt wel koud deze week. Op 13 februari hoop ik mijn 63e verjaardag. Ik had maar 1 ding op mijn wensenlijstje en dat was sneeuw. Mijn droom kwam uit.
Last night a snowstorm came over Holland. The sound of the wind woke me up at 4 am. It was great to see the snow coming down in my little garden. My dog Vito and I were so excited. The whole day long he was beging several times to go out in the garden. It was'nt nice to take him out for his walks today. The stormy winds blowed the snow in my eyes. My dog had one thing in mind and that was running in the snow. But to many people were enjoying themselves taking a walk. And not everbody loves to see a dog on a free run. I am happy that the wind is less strong at the moment. I wonder how things will look when the sun is shining tomorrow. The new week will bring a lot of cold. At February 13th I hope to celebrate my 63rd birthday. I had one thing for years on my wishlist and that was snow. My wish came trough today.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenWow! It's not often to see snow at your place. It looks like it's winter across northern Europe. Here it's -14 C right now. Green pea-soup is nice to eat during the cold period.

VerwijderenIt's great to have real winter weather after so many years of mild ones. The color of the snow brings a lot of light. It was cold here also last night -8C. The green pea-soup gives the body a warm feeling.

It is funny because my youngest grandchild has birthday the 13. too. She is then 3 years old.
She was born the day when our Prins Henrik died, så we will always remember that day.

VerwijderenHaving the snow around makes me feel like a child again. We did 15 cm snow. At monday it was hard to go out for a walk with the dog. The stormy winds caused snow dunes. But the snow does make many people to go out for a walk and de roads to walk are much better now. The older I get the more affraid I am to fall.
It's great that your grandchild is also celebrating her birthday on the 13th. I wish a her a long, happy life.
I love the page you've made about all the roses that are growing in your garden. It's a pitty that when a page is updated that it does'nt appear as a new post.

Happy birthday coming up soon, Marijke. I hope that you will have fresh snow that day and a wonderful group of birds visiting your garden. I would like to have a bird table like yours but it is impossible here. The squirrels would clean it off before the birds even had a chance!

VerwijderenThank you so much for your birthday wishes. The birds are making my day beautiful every single day. As a birdlover it would be nice if the squirrels would leave some food for the birds. But having squirrels in the garden must also be a wonderful thing.
