The heat is over
22C. Heerlijk.
Pfff I am so pleased that the heat is gone. Yesterday I hoped about to have
some rain. At the end of the afternoon the sky turned out dark grey but only
one big bang of the thunder and a thimble of rain and the showers were gone.
In 10 minutes time the temperatures droped from 34C to 22C. I love how it
is now outside.

Good evening dear Marijke,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI can understand you very well, 34 degrees is to hot! Here ve got som rain this afternoon, and now it's 15 dg.
Your roses are stunning, and Sweet Pretty is so pretty :)
I wish you a chilly evening.
Rosehugs, Marit
Good morning dear Marit,
VerwijderenYes 34C and in my little garden I think it was over 40C not a nice place to be. After the heat it's so great to feel the fresh wind on the skin. Sweet Pretty is a real healthy one. The leaves of the Hydrangea's were hanging like they were going to die so it was time to water the garden yesterday evening. These are the moments that the size of my garden is great (fun).
Have a wonderful weekend.
Rosehugs Marijke
Good morning dear Marijke
VerwijderenIt is very hot for you, I am glad to hear that you have only 22 degrees now, then you can join your garden again. That warm is not good for the roses, they don´t keep very long, when it is so hot. But you still shows nice pictures of them. Thank you.
Rosehugs Lisbeth
Good morning dear Lisbeth,
VerwijderenIt's what you are writing with such burning heat the flowers don't last long. And is these
very dry and hot period it's always a question do I give them extra water or not. But I also
noticed that the new buds that were arriving were dry and brown so I gave the roses extra
water yesterdayevening. And today it was so lovely having the drizzelrain on my nose during my walk with my dog. It's refreshing. A lot gardeners have an open gardenday today. For them it's not so nice having rain at this moment.
Have a wonderful day Lisbeth

Queen of Sweden is
Verwijdereneen mooie roos.
Hartelijke groetjes
Marijke
Good morning dear Marijke,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenlovely to see your roses, hydrangeas and other plants! You´re lucky to still have so many roses blooming in your garden. In my garden almost all of the rose blooms have faded by now. I am still in love with your Fantin Latour rose! I also saw that rose in England and it is so so beautiful. Would love to have it too! Hydrangeas I also have in my garden and I love them.Regarding your question on whether I purchased something in England or not, I bought many plants. Bought two roses at the garden shop at Motttisfont Abbey, Quatro de Saison and Chapeau de Napoleon and Tour de Malakoff at Sissinghurst. I also bought some thymes, lavender, and dianthus as well as a rosemary plant. I bought something at every garden I visited. I thought these plants would be great reminders of my lovely garden visits.
Have a lovely day!
Best wishes,
Lisa
Good morning dear Lisa,
VerwijderenI have many roses with sick leaves at the moment but the historical one's are so healthy. Fantin Latour was on my wishlist for a long time and I am so pleased to have it. It needs a
large space but it looks perfect. I have the idea that it was an exceptional year for the rose to grow. So many flowers and the one's I deadheaded are already giving new growth. It's stunning. I am jalouse (positive of course) of the gardentrip you've made. How difficult it must have been to stop buying things for the garden. It's great that you've found certain things to bring home. A beautiful rememberance I think.
Have a fantastic day Lisa
Rosehugs Marijke
Dear Marijke, how lovely to see your roses, I dream myself away.. Some of my roses are old roses, and bloom only once. I think I have to plant some "new" roses. Your Queen of Sweden is lovely, is it a hardy rose, and does it bloom for a longer peeiod?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLove your hydrangeas too, take care and have wonderful days in your rosegarden,
Rosehugs, Ida
Hello dear Ida,
VerwijderenThe Queen of Sweden is a lovely one. Is hardy she survived the very cold winter 2012/2013 while other roses were frozen on groundlevel. She did not.
At the left side of my blog there is a link to Help me Find if you click it you can find information about every rose in the world. Also what zone it can be grown. In my garden it brings flushes througout the season.
The hydrangea's are so beautiful even at the end of the gardenseason. I planted them on a shady but very dry place. So I hope I don't forget to water them (lol).
Have a wonderful weekend ahead.
Rosehugs Marijke
Fantastic garden you have over there, I love it.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThank you so much Bob. It's a small garden but I love what I have. And a lot of birds do love to visit it also.
VerwijderenHave a wonderful day.
So, so very beautiful, Marijke.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI sure wish we would have some heat here.
Here it is, almost the end of June, and our mornings have still been in the low 40's.
And so much rain. :-(
Hopefully things will change soon, and I will be seeing more of my roses bloom here.
Have a wonderful week, sweet friend.
xo.
Good morning dear Lisa,
VerwijderenI wish I could blow some warmer weather to your country. We did have a lot of summers like you are having now. This year June brought summerweather. I keep my fingers crossed for you that you can enjoy the beauty of your garden soon. I was afraid you stoped blogging. I hope you are going to post your beautiful photograph's soon.
Have a wonderful day Lisa
