A Shropshire Lad 2021
Ja het is een rozenjungle hier. Het is goed dat mijn man af en toe de schaar pakt en zegt nu is het genoeg. Als je mij mijn gang laat gaan wordt de tuin als in het het sprookje van Doornroosje. Genoemde roos was schitterend afgelopen jaar.
Yes it's a rosejungle here. It´s good that my husband sometimes take up a scissor and telling me that it´s enough. If it was up to me the garden would look like in the fairytale of Sleeping Beauty. This rose was doing fantastic last year.

VerwijderenNo it´s not easy to listen to our husbands(fun). Problem is that they are so right! Buying new things is not the problem but there is no space in the garden anymore to plant them.

I know about the problem inside my house too, and my husband do not like too many plants indoors. Outside in my garden I still have some space.

VerwijderenNous manquons toujours de place, petit ou grand jardin, lorsque la passion des roses nous anime. Ceci dit on peut toujours planter "au pied de biche", en pot mais il arrive un jour où il faut dire "stop". Je te comprends car je fais pareil. Ceci dit "A Shropshire Lad" est sublime, j'en ai deux chez moi, l'un grimpant trop taillé l'an dernier à cause des voisins et un autre qui a bien du mal à grandir mais je ne désespère pas. Il fait encore bien froid, beaucoup de brouillard surtout et une pelouse complètement mouillée qui m'empêche d'aller au jardin comme je le souhaiterais. Belle fin de semaine et surtout excellent week-end (PS : les cigognes reviennent plus tôt que d'habitude, c'est un signe du prochain printemps je pense).

VerwijderenYes the garden is always to small (fun). I know it's also possible to have plants in pots but I always forget to water them. The rose is a great one and for many years in my garden. Yes the birds are on theire way coming from the south. Earlier as other years. I hope King Winter does'nt bring an unexpected visit! It's still cold and grey in Holland and a lot of wind. But spring is on it's way!! Have a wonderful weekend ahead.

Hello Marijke, :=) What a beautiful pink rose. The Shropshire Lad is a real beauty. I love to see a garden bursting with flowers, trees, and shrubs, all very close together. My garden is a like jungle, untamed but not untidy. The occasional trim is all it needs. You don't have the space for more plants, but what you do have is a very lovely garden.

What an abundance of flowers in the rose and perennials. A Shropshire Lad seem to be a very good Austin rose.

VerwijderenA Shropshire Lad is a fantastic rose. But Austin tell's it's a climbing rose. But I think that it would be more beautiful to give it a place at the back of the border in a large garden. I don't have that space (fun).
